Internationalization@home (IaH)

In an increasingly interconnected world, the demand for international skills and intercultural competencies continues to rise. With Internationalization@Home (IaH), Higher Vocational Colleege Viken bring global perspectives directly to the classroom, empowering students to thrive in a diverse and globalized society without the need for international travel.
Internationalization

IaH is committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of their geographical circumstances, gain valuable global insights that are seamlessly integrated into their academic journeys. Our approach customizes internationalized learning outcomes, equipping every learner to interact with and appreciate the complexity of different cultures.

Central to IaH is the celebration of cultural diversity. We leverage the unique experiences and backgrounds of our students to transform the classroom into an engaging, inclusive space for learning, teaching, and assessment. By facilitating interactions with diverse cultural groups within local communities, we cultivate an environment where knowledge and insights flow freely, fostering personal growth and enhancing community bonds.

Students who participate in IaH emerge as critical thinkers and informed global citizens, armed with essential skills for employability.

Moreover, IaH transcends individual development; it aids institutions in fulfilling their strategic missions focused on global engagement, equality, diversity, inclusion (EDI), sustainability, and increased participation. By promoting knowledge diplomacy through collaboration and networking among both domestic and international students, we advance mutual understanding and work together to address the pressing challenges facing our world today.

International week with sustainability on the agenda🌍

In week 35, we invite all teachers and students to a unique and exciting week with international cooperation and sustainability at the centre!

Everyone is welcome to participate in all or part of the digital program on Zoom.

Join us for the kick-off on Monday 26 August. NB! Participation later in the week requires that you have attended the kick-off.

It is a content-rich and exciting program with, among others; Marcel den Hollander, who is one of the leading researchers in the circular economy!

See the entire program here.

In collaboration with Hogeschool Rotterdam, we open the doors to a series of exciting digital lectures that will give you valuable knowledge and practical experience on how to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Collaborate accross borders and dive into challenges and opportunities which are all linked to the UN's sustainability goals. This is a chance to not only develop your professional skills, but also to build international networks and friendships.

This week is part of the school's Erasmus+ plan and strategy for FiV's work with internationalisation, where we work to develop global citizens who are equipped to face the challenges of the future. This project, known as Internationalization@home, gives you a unique opportunity to increase your skills and make a difference.

Are you ready to take part in this exciting week?
