About Fagskolen i Viken
Welcome to Fagskolen i Viken - Higher Vocational College!
Fagskolen i Viken - Higher Vocational College (FiV) is Norway's largest public vocational college with over 2000 students. We are a college for higher vocational education operating on level 5 of EQF and we offer profession - and business-focused educational programmes within a wide range of subject areas.
Students can study full-time, part-time, on campus or part-time online via digital platforms such as Teams and Zoom. We also offer a range of module based courses developed together with public and private organisations.
We currently offer study programmes within technical subjects, tourism, management, health and youth development.
FiVs eight permanent campuses are located within Viken county; Kongsberg, Fredrikstad, Geilo, Vestby, Strømmen, Rud, Indre Østfold and Bjørkelangen.
We have long traditions of educating professionals dated back to 1895 when Tinius Olsen founded a technical college in Kongsberg. In 2020, we became Fagskolen i Viken following a merge of Fagskolen Tinius Olsen, Fagskolen i Østfold og Fagskolen i Oslo og Akershus (studyprogrammes from Akershus). We are working together with the occupational sector to create and offer coveted education catering for the needs of the world of work.
The school now has two separate accreditations which allows our students and staff to engage in Erasmus+ activity.
