Reflections from Rotterdam
In the Netherlands, we have had the opportunity to see how some companies operate in everyday life and how these businesses have an effect both locally and internationally for the development of production and maintenance of various machines and equipment. We have had the opportunity to create personal friendships and work contacts in the Rotterdam area through this trip.
We have also had the opportunity to have dialogues with the local students on many different topics such as current issues, sustainable solutions and how these issues should be resolved from the perspective of another culture.
A challenge which was to create a presentation that explains simply and precisely how Norway works to local students has been an exciting project for me and the class. Here I was able to use my technical English skills to be able to explain these points in the presentation.
Finally, I have gained a better overview of the energy crisis which is most relevant today, both how Norway and the Netherlands are doing at this time and what the future may hold.
